Hi everyone,

We have been busy since the show regrouping and getting ready for the last push before Christmas.  Have you done all your Christmas shopping yet?  We certainly haven't. 

We love this time of year, getting ready to spend time with the special people in your life, and of course including those that may not be as fortunate.  It will soon be time to get the tree and decorate it.  That is always so much fun.  Do you have a theme for dressing your tree?

I have just been busy sorting out our photos so I could make a new Christmas coverpage for Facebook.  Here is the finished article.  What do you think?

Woodend Show

Hi everyone,

As I told you I have been busy in my studio.  I am off to Woodend Bear Show near Melbourne in Victoria, Australia on Thursday.  I am taking my Bears by Tracey artist collectable bears and also the Teds.

Paris

Hi everyone,  Its been a bit hectic with all the travelling.  I have met up with my friends and have attended the Paris Bear Show.  Had a great time there and I have lots of photos to share.  I just have to sort myself out.

I then travelled back to New Zealand via Auckland where I met up with Noeline so we could attend the Auckland Doll and Bear Show.

Hugglets Display

Hi everyone, This post is a bit early but I thought you would be wondering how Hugglets went.  Tracey advises she had a great show with several bears being adopted and off to lovely new homes and also catching up with other artists and friends

Its always a lot of work getting ready for a show which I am sure you will appreciate and you want them to all look their best on the day.  Here is what the stand looked like.  There were two parts to the stand, the artist bears and the new release of Ned the Ted bears. 

Don't forget if you want to be in the draw to win a Ned the Ted you need to have subscribed to our Little Bear Company newsletter by 30 September. After that date we will have a lucky draw for one subcriber.  The link to subscribe is on the sidebar.

Hugglets

Tracey attended Hugglets yesterday, a great and famous Bear show held on London. It was a really busy day, several bears were adopted to new homes, and a great opportunity to catch up with other international bear artists.  I will share photos from the show later in the week.

What I do want to share with you is our new release. Ned the Ted's relatives. They were released at Hugglets and are now off to Paris. They will be available to everyone once Tracey gets back to NZ.  I am sure you will agree they are very cute.

These are a few of my favourites.  The first ones I call "My Three Sons".  It took me back to a TV series I used to watch when I was young! Now thats giving away my age isn't it?

Its up, up and away

Well, today was a busy day, getting Tracey off to the airport for the start of her overseas adventures.  For the next few weeks I will be keeping you informed of how its all going and what is happening. 

You won't believe it.  Tracey has found a stow away!!    A little companion who is going to share her adventures.  His name is Ned the Ted, and he has managed to hitch a ride with her.  If you want to follow his adventures and keep up to date with what he is up to please click here or on The Adventures of Ned the Ted link on the right hand side of the page.   Please share this with the little people in your life as I am sure they will enjoy the story.

London Calling!!!!

I am so excited. Only 3 more sleeps till I head off to London.

Yes! I am off to Hugglets in London and then the following Sunday I will be showing my bears and critters at the Paris Show.

The bears are coming along very well. I am sooooo pleased with my progress for the Hugglets and Paris shows. I have really pushed myself to be organized.

Hugglets Bears are increasing in numbers!!!!

Hi all. Its Tuesday!!!!!Happy Tuesday morning!!!

I have had a busy week so far and it only the start of the week. Children unwell with asthma and hayfever plus a  hospital visit last night. All ok now. However we are still shaking a bit with a few aftershocks from Friday's earthquake.  They are predicting that we will have another big one next week!!!! that is a bit scary!

Well back to the bear business.  I have been sewing up a storm of bears for the Hugglets and Paris shows.

The elephants are still making up their minds on their outfits so hopefully will be back for their dress rehearsal on Friday.

Look who arrived after the earthquakes on Friday. Two beautiful polar bears. First there were 2 and before I knew it they had multiplied to 4.

Distrupted Day - Earthquake City

Well, you never know when things are going to happen you have no control over, so when a big earthquake hit Wellington this afternoon we went into survival mode, checking on each other and all our families.  Fortunately we have not sustained any damage and everybody is okay.

So that put a little blip on our planned post today which will now come out on Monday.  However, exciting news we were featured on one of Set Up Shop colleagues Fabulous Find Friday Blog today.

The boys have parties and winter camp and I will be in my studio all weekend sewing.

Getting ready for Hugglets and Paris

Hi all

Well I hope everyone had a great weekend.
Finally Dave and I were able to go on our honeymoon weekend. I know we were married in January however it was only now that we were able to take our trip.

Will show photos of our trip once I work out how I can get them off my phone.

Well it is going to be a busy week in the studio. Lots of finishing. On my table today I am working on 2 lovely little elephants.

What a week!

Hi everyone, its been one of those weeks with lots going on.  It still doesn't stop Tracey from having some great design moments and in due course you will see what she has been working on. 

We have been busy working on our Christmas ideas and I am sure you will be pleased with the results when they start appearing on the table.  Isn't it great when the creative juices have an opportunity to flow?

Who has been sleeping in my bed?

Behind the scenes at LBC HQ we have been working on accessories for the bears and bunnies. 

We have just released our little kitset bed on Etsy after lots of prototypes.  It is made of MDF board and just slots together.  We also have bedding sets to go with it and more in the pipeline.    

These great little beds are ready for decorating or to use as they are.  They not only fit the bears and bunnies but also BJD dolls up to 6 inches tall, so great for Pukipuki, pukifee and Lati White.

Home again

Hi everyone,  we got home last night after Wellington had another big earthquake.  We were lucky to be on the first plane back into Wellington after the airport had been closed for checking.  Everything was fine only a few broken glasses. 

We had a lovely weekend in Christchurch, great catching up with collectors.  We had some great feedback about our new products so we are busy working on new lines to compliment our range.  Tracey shared her knowledge on bearmaking with several new makers.

Back to reality today, sorting everything out, stocktaking then getting back into the groove.

From one shaky place to another

You wouldn't believe it. Wellington had a good earthquake this morning. A 5.7  however Tracey and I didn't feel it as we were too busy talking  driving to the airport!  So we are now safely in Christchurch. Hopefully there will be no other quakes here .

We are all set up for the show and looking forward to our Christchurch visitors.

Heading to Christchurch

Hi everyone from a very chilly New Zealand.  We are in the depths of winter and over the weekend it rained persistently.  What a perfect excuse to keep tucked up inside beavering away on our creations. 

We are busy getting ready to head off to the National Doll and Bear show in Christchurch this weekend at the Horticultural Centre, 57 Riccarton Road from 10am till 4pm, Saturday and Sunday.  If any of you are in the area or at the show please pop in and say hello.

I have been trying to finish off some of the new garments I have been working on for the bears, mice, elephants and dolls.  I love knitting in miniature and none of these are over 5.5 cm (2.25 inches) in length.  Let me know what you think.

What a day!!!

Hi all
Today was very exciting. I met up with Janine from my set-up shop course. We talked for 4 hours non-stop. Which is not surprising as most people know I love to talk.

I took these bears and a mouse to show her.

On arriving home I found that my studio roof had leaked. I was so lucky that I had a tidy table and did not suffer too much damage.

On my table are the following mice. 2 avocado and 2 cream mice.

Where are my sisters??????

New Product Release !!!!

Hi everyone,

Lots has been going on behind the scenes and I am pleased to say that we have just launched our new bed and bedding range on Etsy especially designed for the Snuggle Bears and Bunnies.  They are also great for any dolls under 6 inches tall like Lati and Pukipuki. 

The bed is a little kitset which just fits together, no glue, nails or tools required.  The first range of bedding is pictured below.  Please let us know what you think.

Hi all! Sorry for the late post.

Well it has been a busy day today. I have finally booked my flights to London. I am heading off to the  Hugglets Teddy Bear Show, which is being held on the 8th of September.!!!

It is going to be so much fun!

The reason for the lateness in posting was because today I taught Campbell's class how to make friendship bracelets. We had heaps of fun and the lesson was very successful. Getting prepared for this task made me very late in getting a post onto the blog.
Hopefully next week I will have some photos of his class doing their bracelet making.

Anyway, finally I have put together photos of the bears in their outfits at the Brisbane Show "Winter Wonderland'. They were taken quickly before the show started. Hope you enjoy them!

What an exciting week!!!!!

Hi all!
Hope you are keeping warm. Today in Lower Hutt it is a chilly 3 degrees however it is going to be a beautiful sunny day. Everything has returned back to normal at LBC HQ. We have returned from Brisbane after a very successful show. It was great to meet my 'Bears By Tracey 'collectors as well as show off and sell our new Snuggle Bears and Bunnies.

This coming weekend the 'Bears By Tracey' bears will be trading in the Teddies Worldwide online show.

This week is going to be a very busy one as we fly to Brisbane Australia on Friday. This weekend we are trading at the 'Winter Wonderland Doll and Bear Show. It is going to be great to catch up with friends. I will take photos and share them at the end of next week when we return.

Anyway the bears are still getting their outfits prepared and it looks like Wednesday will be the dress rehearsal. I will try to post photos later in the week with a special post.

Chilly friday however the sun is shining

Hi all! 

Firstly I just want to say a big 'Thank-you' to all the lovely comments that Noeline and I have received about our new Etsy shop.  If you still haven't checked it out, click on the link on the right hand side of the blog.

It is winter here in New Zealand and when I woke up it was 3 degrees....very chilly when walking the dog at 6.00am.

However next Friday Noeline, Laraine (Rainebears) and I are heading to Brisbane, Australia for the Winter Wonderland Doll and Bear Show. Lets hope the weather  is a little warmer.

Had a lovely time at the beach house and managed to get 2 avocado colored bears completed. You can see them here in the photo below. They are waiting for there friends to be completed. I will show the completed bears next Monday.

As all the bears are still getting their clothes completed I am unable to show you them. However return on Monday and I am sure I will have photos of them.

Catch up time....

Happy holiday everyone,

It's Queens Birthday weekend here in New Zealand so I have been taking the opportunity to catch up with family and friends and also find time to get those needles busy.

As Tracey told you its my job to get the outfits ready for the bears.  Its always exciting trying to find the right look for each bear. 

So, I have been busy with my needles and here are a  couple of cardigans and jumpers that I have finished recently.  What do you think?

What an exciting week!

Hi all. Hope you have had a lovely week. I am just about to head off for a walk with my sister Paula. 

Well what a week it has been. I have managed to produce some lovely "Bears By Tracey" bears however I am sorry to tell you that I haven't managed to produce any lying down style bears yet.

Hopefully next week. 

Today is design day and tidy up studio day as well

Searching my studio I found this little bear in bits. As it it a long weekend here in New Zealand, we are heading to our beach house. I aim to finish off this little bear and have it for show next Friday.

What a week! Look what I have finished!

Hi all! Hope you had a lovely weekend. Here at LBC HQ it has been extremely busy. 

Wednesday was an exciting day as Little Bear Company launched its new products the Snuggle Bears and Bunnies. 

Our Etsy store is finally open. Check them out at www.littlebearcompany.etsy.com.

Also Tracey was a bit obsessed with her 'Bears By Tracey' artist bears last week. She finished a record number of 7 bears!!!! They are still waiting to be dressed as Noeline has come down with the flu and Tracey is not going anywhere near her!!! So instead of 'What is on my table this week.. it is look 'What I have finished!'

Here are the three sunshine yellow artist bears Tracey started on Tuesday, By Thursday they were all completed and then she decided to make some of her very popular 'no hair' mohair bears and  managed to finish 3
